Members of the Coalition, Headwaters Trails, Inc, Keepers of the Shiawassee, and Friends of the Shiawassee worked with the University of Michigan-Flint in 2016 to create a brochure about the Shiawassee River water trail.

The Shiawassee River Google Map was created by Tyler Graham and Sara McDonnell at the University of Michigan-Flint. Users are able to view boat launch locations and pictures, obstacles and portages, and what type of river experience is expected at each stretch.
